Janella Wikstrom — 1917-2010

Former Le Sueur resident Janella Wikstrom passed away on Jan. 31, 2010 in Tuscon, Ariz. at the age of 92.

Janella was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minn. In 1947 she married Wilbert “Wik” Wikstrom and in 1952 they moved to Le Sueur where they opened Wikstrom Jewelry and raised their family. Janella was the business bookkeeper as well as part-time salesperson. She also enjoyed playing the organ for the Lutheran Church and visiting with friends and neighbors.

Due to ‘Wik’s’ health they moved to Phoenix, Ariz. in 1969 where Janella continued to work in the jewelry business for another 10 years. ‘Wik’ passed away in 1991 and two years later Janella moved to Tuscon to be closer to family.

She is survived by sons Terry and Greg and daughter Linda, all of Arizona. Five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive.

A memorial service was held at the Tanque Verde Lutheran Church in Tuscon on Feb. 5. Burial was at the Phoenix Memorial Mortuary in Phoenix.
