Lorene Yaeger, age 88 of Le Sueur, died unexpectedly at her residence on Monday, Jan. 4, 2010. Funeral services were held on Thursday, Jan. 7, at Zion United Church of Christ. Interment was in the Calvary Cemetery in Le Sueur.
She was born on March 23, 1921 in Brown County, S.D., to Albert C. and Irene (Pagel) Horneman. She attended country school and moved to the Rush River area with her parents as a youth. She married William F. Yaeger on May 13, 1952 at Le Sueur. She worked for many years in the advertising and promotions department of the Green Giant Company. She was an active member of Zion United Church of Christ as a volunteer and Women’s Fellowship member.
Lorene is survived by her brother, Melford (Shirley) Horneman and a sister-in-law, Audrey Horneman of Le Sueur. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1993, and by brothers, Alvin and Albert Horneman and sisters, Evelyn Hahn and Delores Brenke.
