| LSH speech team wins at Jordan |

Le Sueur-Henderson students gathered six first-place finishes in winning the speech tournament at Jordan on Feb 27.
LS-H swept the top two spots in the Creative Expression category as Anthony Lehman was first and Tanner Sunderman, second. Andrew Gerdts received an honorable mention for his effort.
In Discussion, senior Ted Klimek was awarded place while freshman Sean Bruns finished third.
Jolie Richter achieved a second-place finish in Extemp Reading. In Extemp Speaking category, junior Jamie Schlarbaum received to honors with first place.
Three LS-H students placed in the Humorous category. Sophomore Tanner Sunderman was first; Jordan Wiest, third; and Emily Barnard, sixth place.
Seventh-grader Christine Schwartz received fourth place in the Informative category. LS-H again swept the Original Oratory competition with senior Kali Schwartz taking the top spot and Jacqueline Tousley finishing second. In Serious Drama, Maria Teigs took home third place.
LS-H garnered three placings in Serious Poetry. Junior Cecilia Hernandez was selected as the top performance while Amanda LaTourelle received third and senior Natalie Thomas finished fourth.
In Serious Prose, Sherene Mostaghimi finished third while freshman Mariah Meger ended up sixth.
Finally, in Storytelling, juniors Elizabeth Weiers and Rachel Bjork received second and third place, respectively. Kayla Schwartz earned fifth place. |
